At Art & Tolerance, we believe that culture is not something we simply inherit—it is something we continually interpret, question, and reimagine. By bringing together visual art, music, poetry, and literature, we create opportunities for people to encounter different histories, perspectives, and ways of seeing the world. We believe that art has the power to open conversations, deepen understanding, and bring people into meaningful encounters with cultures, histories, and ideas beyond their own.
Panjabi Poetica, our flagship literary initiative brings Panjabi poetry into contemporary public life - not as an artifact of the past, but as a living tradition to be read, sung, discussed, and experienced together.

Sonia Dhami
President
Sonia Dhami is an independent curator, writer, and cultural leader based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is the founder of Panjabi Poetica, the flagship literary initiative of Art & Tolerance, through which she reimagines classical and contemporary Panjabi literature for public audiences through performances, exhibitions, reading circles, webinars, and community conversations. Her curatorial work includes the landmark exhibitions I Will Meet You Yet Again: Contemporary Sikh Art at the Fowler Museum at UCLA (co-curator) and Nānaka Ivẽ Jāṇīẽ: Contemporary Janamsakhi Paintings at Loyola Marymount University. Through an interdisciplinary practice that brings together literature, music, visual art, and performance, Dhami creates new spaces for cultural understanding and dialogue.
Gursewak Musafir
Treasurer
Gursewak Musafir is a former radio host in Punjab and the Bay Area. He remains deeply engaged with Punjabi language and folklore through literary contributions, while his professional career is in healthcare administration.
